Who we are
The Horse Sanctuary in Rome & the Westerns Ranch in Abruzzo
I'm Alessia, daughter in art with three generetions of riders , in the 2011 thanks to to the help of the volounters we founded the assossiation Cavalieri di Gaia and the horse sanctuary.
We rented five ectars in the Natural Reserve in Ostia, the beach of Rome and into the archaeological park of Ostia Antica , the anciant Harbour of the Roman Empire built in the 500 a.c.
At the horse sanctuary we rescue more than 10 horses: they had agonistic curruculum as jumpers, cattle horse, racers,.. and ages from 6 to 24 years old.
Our goal is to welcome lovers of Nature, you can help us taking care of the horses,
improving the horse sanctuary and promoting equine well-being.
It's not important if you are expert or beginners rider, you choice between many horse riding experiences:
from the basic horse riding trails for beginner riders with well trained horses, horse riding lessons
to learn the base of the equestrianism or to improve your tecnique. Join ou group!
Where we are & how you can reach
the Horse Sanctuary in Rome
The Horse Sanctuary is in Rome, it's only 15 minutes from the International Airport of Fumincino.
It's easy reach it from the city center of Rome by public transportation: you take the underground, B line, at Piramide train station you switch with the Freccia del Mare - Ostia Lido train and you stop at Ostia Antica station.
The meeting point is 5 minutes walking from the train station of Ostia Antica, in front of the Castle of Giulio || .
It's possible arrange shuttle service with driver from and to your hotel with additional extra cost.

The Western's Ranch in Abruzzo,

During summer, temperature in Rome are very warm so we usually move the heard of horses up to the mountains to my father's ranch in Abruzzo, where breathtaking views await at every turn. It's easy reach the ranch in Tagliacozzo, Abruzzo, by car in hour and 15 mintutes from Rome. Drive from A24 to Carsoli. Take the exit toward Tagliacozzo from A24.Take SS 5 quarter Via Tiburtina Valeria/SS5 Quater to Via Roma in Tagliacozzo
