At the Horse Sanctuary we welcome everyone who shares a love for horses, whether you're an experienced rider or just starting out. Participate in caring for our horses, enhancing our sanctuary and promoting equine well-being. Choose from a variety of horse riding experiences, including basic trails for beginners with well-trained horses and lessons to help you learn the fundamentals or refine your technique. Don't be a tourist, live the chance to discover Rome as slow traveller!

Dress code: comfortable clothes, sneackers or riding boots.

The Area: Our center is located in the biggest archaeological area of Europe, the port of the Roman Empire and belong the beach and 15 minutes by car from the international airport of Fiumicino.
Meeting time: around 6 pm
It is possible accord the time with the guest
Meeting Point: Dolce Caffe, Romagnoli street 756, Ostia Antica, Rome. It's reach the meeting point in 25 minutes of undergound, ticket price 1.50€. It's possible customized your holiday with shuttle service with private car and driver with extra cost to add.
Starting time: every morning at 10.00 am.
We also organize photo shooting with professional photographer with extra.
It's possible customize your holiday with activities in the city center of Rome or relaxing experiences in the countryside:
- It's possible to book a private tour with extra visiting the highliths of Rome with a private walking tour from the Colosseum, to the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and much more with special gastronomic tasting included.
- It possible to add dinner and over night near the beach with an extra, daily free entrance at the welness center or walking guided tour at the archaeological area of Ostia Antica and the Castle of Giulio II.
Other Activities out of Rome: It is also possible to choose the duration of the vacation, you can also enrich your trip with private cultural tours in the most important tourist attractions in Rome.

What to bring
We recommend wearing your riding boots when travelling and carrying one set of riding clothing and your helmet in your hand luggage, so should your luggage not make it to the destination you’ll still be able to ride. Please use the packing list as a guideline, bearing in mind the time of year you are riding.
- Your own well-fitted hard hat
- Comfortable jodhpurs or riding trousers
- Riding / hiking boots with good grip
- Chaps
- Riding gloves
- Long sleeved T-shirts to protect against the sun
- Warm layer such as fleece or woollen jumper for cool evenings
- Water- and windproof coat
- Buff / bandana to protect against the sun and dust
- Comfortable clothes for the evening
- Lightweight shoes for after riding

Climate:
Rome is located in central Italy where the summers are typically hot with plenty of sunshine. The hottest months are July and August when the daytime temperatures can sometimes reach up to 40°C. Spring and autumn are generally mild with mostly good weather. Temperatures during the day can vary between 15°C to 25°C. The annual precipitation is fairly low with most rainfall during the months from September to April.
Healt: For health and vaccine recommendations, please consult your healthcare provider at least 8 weeks before your trip.

Currency & Tipping The local currency in Italy is Euro. Your holiday is fully inclusive and we recommend not to bring too much cash with you, just enough if you wish to buy drinks outside of mealtimes or souvenirs etc. Credit cards are accepted if you wish to book a massage or any of the onsite services such as a cooking course or bicycle hire. Tipping your guide is at your discrection

Cancellation policy
Payment & Cancellation Terms .Holidays are confirmed with a 20% of deposit. The full balance is due 45 days before the start date.
If you cancel your booking less than 45 days before the start date of your trail we are entitled to receive full payment, less refunds as follows:
30 days or more before booking date - 50%
less than 30 days - nil
Insurance
All customers are required to take out appropriate travel insurance that covers horse riding and holiday cancellation. Proof of insurance details will be required during the booking process.
